Old school?

The soprano’s seems to have fitted in to a nieche that has gripped our culture. It is the feeling that our best days are behind us that permits a sense of historic pride. It’s a feeling that tony frequently expresses to Dr. Melfi in their sessions with comments such as “i feel like i’ve come in at the end. Like i missed the best bits” or his references to the mafia’s sense of morality, “Nowadays, there are no values. Guys today have no room for penal expereince.” As a matter of fact there seems no greater thing for any gangster in the series than to be referred to as ‘old school’. Old school is also what the sopranos decideidly is, despite all it’s comtemporary elements or suburban life, psychoanalysis, popular culture, and strong women.
